Dear GDI Supporters,

It has been just over 3 years since the public release of our venerable G1-OSM M14/M1A optic mount. During this time we have been supporting America’s freedom fighters in their fight against the war on terror. With much success on the battlefield, our G1 has provided our servicemen and women with what we feel to be a superior grade optical mount that can go the distance and deliver as promised………A precision made, accuracy enhancing, bombproof optical mounting solution.

We first identified the need for a premium grade optic mount during time served lying down behind the M14 while serving in the sandbox. The M14 platform out-shot and out-ran the other more “tech’d out” 7.62 gas-operated rifles we utilized, and proved without a doubt its ability to perform. The “14” survived with great ease in the harsh environments, wasn't’ finicky about cleaning, didn’t whine about maintenance, and still delivered the goods downrange with preciseness.

Although, the one shortfall that quickly became evident, was the ineffectiveness of the existing optic mounts to interface both Trijicon ACOG and Mil-Std rings effectively, along with their inherent inability to provide proper eye-relief. This reality became a key set-back in the field.

It was then that the need to develop a mounting solution to leverage modern optics reared its head. Developing a mount that would withstand the rigors of combat, and provide a marksman grade capability that would enhance accuracy and increase battlefield effectiveness became our objective. This objective became our mission statement and focus.

The end result of our accomplishment was the G1-OSM, which provided a dramatically improved critical eye-relief enhancement, mounting / interfacing of both Mil-Spec Picatinny/M1913 compatible rings and Trijicon ACOG optics – accomplishing all without the need for additional adapters or removal of existing mechanical sights.

Soon after, our G1-OSM Gen2 was next to be released. The “Gen2” replaced the original version and provided all that the original G1 offered, as well as the ability to co-witness mechanical/optical sights through our “Loop-Hole” channel. With this, shooters then had the increased ability to utilize their iron sights in addition to their optic sights, without removing the rear aperture.

New Lightweight G1-OSM Gen3 Scout

Our Patriot Program will launch the release of our latest G1-OSM Gen3 Scout. Once again providing all the features of it's predecessor, the G1-OSM Gen3 will yield a significant weight reduction of 25% - bringing the weight of our 17-4PH S/S mount to 8.8oz complete with mounting hardware.

With the advent of sophisticated CAD design and CAM/CNC manufacturing, we combined criteria for excellence in craftsmanship, superior materials, and an attention to detail that would support the end user in their efforts to deliver accurate fire on the battlefields of the world, as well as the rifle ranges and backcountry hunts on American soil.

We wanted to bring a heritage and pride of ownership to the existing lineage of M14 battlerifle enthusiasts that have adopted and relished this system as part of our American military history, and that have stood by what some might feel to be one of the greatest U.S. rifles to ever send rounds downrange.

We understand that over the years, that there has been a limited quantity of our

G1-OSM mounts available outside of military/government procurement efforts. The limited availability was due to our commitment to support our country’s wartime efforts, and provide for existing procurement initiatives within our limited production.

We also realize that while we’ve been producing our mounts from premium grade materials and proudly standing behind our 100% AMERICAN MADE manufacturing protocols, that our G1 mounts have a premium price over those manufactured out-of-country or produced from inferior materials. Sometimes the cost of greatness and superior quality yields a premium expense – we feel it’s worth building something great, and have cut no corners in doing so to bring our concept to fruition on the battlefield.

Over the years, we have streamlined, improved, and created greater excellence in our production capabilities, manufacturing processes, and R&D / innovation design efforts – this has all translated into streamlining and reducing production costs.
